Introducing, Dani Manginelli, our SRNA of the Mont

Introducing, Dani Manginelli, our SRNA of the Month for October! 🌟 Her interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn have left a lasting impact on her team.

Here's what Dani's nominator said about her:
"Dani is one of the most self-sufficient SRNAs with whom I have had the pleasure of working. She almost instantly made friends with the entire staff and got along with everyone, and she eagerly sought out opportunities to learn and help others. Dani has a shining personality and is always very professional yet personable when engaging with patients in a way that seems to put them at ease in an otherwise stressful situation. One particular day I worked with Dani we seemed to just get sicker and sicker patients as the day wore on. For one patient, Dani managed to catch an issue prior to surgery that may have saved the patients life in the post-operative days that followed. Dani noticed that the patient had a currently dissolving DVT but had completed anticoagulant therapy two weeks prior to surgery. Not only did Dani recognize that this meant the patient should not have a SCD on the leg with the DVT, but this led to the discovery that the patient was being sent home after surgery with nothing to prevent blood clots from forming again. This was missed by nurses, doctors, surgeons, and others way before the patient made it to the OR, but thankfully it was caught and any potential harm was mitigated. Beyond this, Dani never hesitates to jump in and help out in any situation whether it is anesthesia related or not. Dani also took it upon herself to not only set up her room for the next day, but she always set up most if not all of the other OR rooms as well, reviewed charts, and filled out pre-op information sheets for more than just her assigned patients. It was a great experience working with Dani Manginelli and I have no doubts she will do a lot for the nursing anesthesia profession."
